Robert (Bob) Robertson, age 77, of Dothan, AL, passed away on May 17th, 2026.


Born on April 6th, 1949, in Clayton, AL, to William Henry Robertson, III and Mildred Smart Robertson, Bob was well known for his congeniality, sense of humor, and welcoming personality. His life was marked by warmth, loyalty, and a deep devotion to the people and places he loved.


Bob grew up with a lifelong passion for sports, deeply treasuring the friendship and fellowship he experienced through his many athletic endeavors. He was a talented high school football and basketball player, and later, a dedicated lover of golf. Remaining active throughout his entire life, he cherished his golfing community tremendously; it was truly one of his greatest joys.


Bob attended the University of Alabama, graduating with a degree in Business Marketing. While at university, he was a proud member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. These years were pivotal in developing lifelong friendships that he cherished, while helping foster the drive and discipline that led to a fulfilling career.


After graduating, Bob pursued a successful career at Alabama Crown Distributing Co., where he was highly valued and respected for over 30 years. Known for his professionalism, steadfast judgment, and good humor, he was a dedicated leader and teammate until his retirement in 2019.


Ultimately, Bob was best known for his easygoing nature, finding immense joy in the people and activities he loved, and truly being a friend to all. To know Bob was to feel loved and valued by him.


Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Robertson; his children, Robert Robertson (Jennifer) and Kathryn Martin (Seth); his stepchildren, Jerod Hauffe (Heather), Amanda Thompson (Craig), and Savannah Spears (Dakota); his grandchildren, Lydia, Ellison, Tate, Mary Carter, and Campbell; his stepgrandchildren, Jordan, Carys, Wynter, Josiah, Emmy, August, Isla, and Eva; his sister and brother-in-law, Janie and Charles Sowell; and his beloved cocker spaniel, Rutan. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Robertson, III and Mildred Smart Robertson; his brother, William (Bill) Henry Robertson, IV; and his stepson, Jeremiah Snell.


Bob will be remembered for the kindness, humor, and steady presence he brought to his family and friends. He lived with a genuine appreciation for people, and his legacy will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. We love and treasure you, Bob—you will be missed beyond measure.


Services celebrating Bob's life will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 1700 Barrington Road, Midland City, AL 36350. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. A graveside ceremony will conclude the services at 3:00 p.m. at Memory Hill Cemetery, 2390 Hartford Hwy, Dothan, AL 36305.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in Bob’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
