Jo Ann Osgood, known lovingly to family and friends as Jody, passed away on October 16, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 91.
Born on October 5, 1935, in Mississippi, Jody lived a life shaped by devotion, resilience, and quiet strength. As a military wife, she embraced a life of frequent change and travel, moving all over the world with grace and determination. Wherever life took her, she created a true home for her family, offering stability, warmth, and love through every season of life. Her steady presence and caring nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Jody devoted much of her life to being a homemaker, a role she carried out with great pride and dedication. She understood the importance of family, comfort, and consistency, and she made sure those around her felt supported and cherished. Her home was a place of welcome, where love was expressed through everyday kindness, thoughtful gestures, and the simple gifts of time and attention. She was known for her strength, her patience, and her ability to make others feel at ease.
She found joy in the quiet pleasures of life, especially reading and listening to audiobooks. These interests brought her comfort, companionship, and endless curiosity, and they reflected her appreciation for stories, learning, and reflection. She also enjoyed sewing, a skill that spoke to both her creativity and her careful attention to detail. Through these pastimes, she expressed the same thoughtfulness and care that defined her life in so many other ways.
Jody was deeply loved by her family and will be remembered with affection by her son, Chris Osgood and his wife Lisa; her daughter, Laurie Norling, who preceded her in death; and her grandchildren, Alyssa Livings and her husband Ron, Eric Osgood and his wife Julie, Brian Osgood and his wife Audrey, and Stephen Osgood. Her family was a source of great pride and joy throughout her life, and she treasured the bonds they shared. The love she gave to them will continue to be felt in the memories they hold and the values she passed on through her example.
Though she is no longer with us, Jo Ann Osgood’s life will be remembered for the love she shared, the home she built, and the enduring impact she made on her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and she will be missed beyond measure.
