Christopher Ryan Hughes

May 16, 1986 — Oct 16, 2026

Christopher Ryan Hughes, known to family and friends as Chris, passed away on October 16, 2026, at the age of 40. He was born on May 16, 1986, in Pensacola, Florida.

Chris was a devoted son, father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his children, Jariah, Nola, Kingston, and Prince; his mother, Debra Lowery; and his siblings, Danielle Nelson, Jeremy Nelson, Mindy Weaver, Tiffany Langham, Robert Hughes, and Hunter Lowery. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Michael Hughes, and his beloved son, Trayson.

After graduating from Gulf Breeze High School, Chris attended Pensacola Junior College. He spent most of his career in the pest control industry in Orlando, Florida, where his strong work ethic and natural ability to connect with people helped him advance from service work to sales and eventually into management. As the first person in the office each day, Chris led by example. His approachable personality and sense of humor also helped foster a welcoming workplace.

Chris had a straightforward nature, a quick wit, and a gift for bringing lightness to everyday moments. He cared deeply for his family and friends. Whether through a shared joke, a conversation, or simply his presence, Chris made an impression on those around him.

Outside of work, Chris enjoyed fishing on the beach and watching basketball and football. He was a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Florida State Seminoles. His basketball loyalty, however, often followed Shaquille O’Neal, leading him to cheer for whichever team Shaq was playing for.

Chris’s legacy will continue through his four surviving children, his mother, his siblings, and the extended family and friends who shared his life. He will be deeply missed and cherished by all who knew him.

A memorial gathering to honor Chris’s life will be announced at a later date.
