Obituary

Roger Kenneth Yon, 70, a resident of the Rehobeth Community, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at his residence following a long illness and failing health.

Roger was born on May 23, 1952 in Dothan, Alabama and was the son of James D. Yon and Mildred Nadine Watson Yon. Roger was retired and was a life long tinkerer and spent most of his free time tinkering with whatever needed tinkering with. He also enjoyed motorcycles, riding and tinkering, fishing from time to time, and was a fan of auto and motorcycle racing.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, James D. Yon; his father's wife, Evelyn Virginia Allen Yon; his sisters, Lisa Marie Hurley and Lori Lynn Robbins; and a nephew, Joshua Ryan McNeal.

Survivors include his mother, Mildred Nadine Watson Yon, Ozark Health and Rehab; his brothers, James S. Yon, Dothan, AL and Gaylon A. Allen (Dale), Midland City, AL; his nephews, Steven A. Yon (Raquel), Skipperville, AL, David C. Yon (Anna), Ghlin, Belgium, Caleb L. McNeal (Stacie), Jacksonville, FL; his niece, Christa M. Guin (Tony), Murfreesboro, TN; other extended family members; and two special friends, Jimmy Butler and Jeff Thornton.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Park.
