Richard Earl McCree

Richard Earl McCree, a resident of Dothan, Al, went home to be with his Lord and savior on Saturday, November 12, 2022. He was 64 years old.

A celebration of his life will be held 11am on Saturday, November 19, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 5-7pm at Sunset Funeral Home.

Richard was born in Birmingham, Alabama on May 8, 1958 to the late Aaron Lee McCree and the late Julia "Sadie" Lee McCree. Richard attended Bethune Elementary School, Attucks Middle School, and South Broward High School.

Richard was a kind-hearted person who was always willing to help anyone out. He loved his family and would fight you over his brother and sisters. He was always willing to make a deal because everything was for sale. You could always spot his city lawn mower somewhere it wasn't supposed to be and on Saturday nights you could find him sitting at the racetrack. Richard always had a yard full of cars waiting on his ribs and crab boil.

He is preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Ray, Mary McCree, and Joanne Byrd; and his brother, Aaron McCree.

Richard leaves to cherish his memory Julie Jackson, his life partner; his children, Richard McCree, Jr. (Felicia) of Orlando, FL, Demarhis Walker (Annie) of Montgomery, AL, Chiana Evan (Allen) of Oakland, California, Ryclaire McCree of Dothan, AL, and bonus daughter, Rashidah Russaw of Dothan, AL; two brothers, Roy McCree (Tamara) of Dothan, AL; one sister, Shandora McCree of Dania, FL; one grandson, Lennox Walker; a bonus grandson Titan Jamison; and a host of nieces and nephews; his special uncle, Richard "Pete" Anderson; as well as a host of cousins and friends.
