Michael Sim Haselden

Michael Sim Haselden, a resident of Columbia, Alabama passed away at a local hospital on Sunday, May 29, 2022. He was 64.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 1:00 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Brewer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 pm on the day of the service. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11:00 am in Haselden Cemetery in Sellers, SC.

Mike was born on October 18, 1957 in Marion, South Carolina and lived the early years there. He was a 1975 graduate of Latta High School. Mike entered the construction field as a sheet metal and pipe fitter. He resided in Latta, SC until he moved to Columbia, AL in 2011. At the time of his death, he was employed with Bob Woodall Air Conditioning. He enjoyed field trials, running dogs, fishing, hunting and was an avid South Carolina Gamecock football fan.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Sim and Emma Elizabeth Daniels Haselden; and his brother, Larry Haselden.

Survivors include his wife, Desiree Haselden; his children, Acea Haselden and Emma Haselden; his sisters, Pat (Theron) Jackson, Marilyn (Billy) Grainger and Carolyn (Billy) Bryant, all of Latta, SC; a special nephew and his family, Rodney (Danette) Powers and a great-niece, Anna Powers of Latta, SC; and nieces and nephews, Karson Erp, Morgan Erp and Luke Erp of Dothan, AL.
