Jeffery D. Barrett

Jeffery D. Barrett, a resident of Dothan, passed away at his residence with his family by his side on Thursday, January 19, 2023. He was 60 years old.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, January 22, 2023 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Jones officiating. Jeff will be laid to rest following the services in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:30-2 pm. Jeff was born on July 22, 1962 in Tacoma, Washington to Orrin D. and Margaret Prichett Barrett. He moved to Tuscaloosa County, Alabama where he lived the younger years of his life. Jeff graduated from Dothan High School in 1980 and attended Wallace Community College where he enjoyed playing in the Jazz Band. He met and married the love of his life Susan Kennemuth in 1985. Together they would make Dothan their home. He worked with AngelTrax for the past 11 years. Jeff was a faithful Christian and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where he enjoyed participating in the audio/visual committee. Jeff loved remote controlled airplanes, drones, and as a child enjoyed model rockets. He was an avid supporter of Alabama football.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Susan Barrett; his daughter, Bailey Barrett; his mother, Margaret Barrett; his brother, Tommy (Amy) Barrett; his sisters-in-law, Tammy (Ed) Stuart and Sherry (Timmy) Ward; his aunt, Linda B. Hughes; and several nieces and nephews, including Anna Barrett, Curtis and Heather Stuart, Laura and Ben Pippin, Drake Ward, TJ and Megan Ward, and a great nephew, Noah Pippin.
