Glennell (Hartzog) Lock

Glennell Hartzog Lock, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022. She was 101 years old.

Graveside services will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Bishop Larry Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The American Red Cross, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037-0839.

Mrs. Lock was born on May 16, 1921 in Geneva County and lived there the early years of her life. She was a graduate of Slocomb High School and attended Draughon Business School in Montgomery before returning to the Wiregrass to enter the workforce. Mrs. Lock retired from the State Unemployment Office as a manager. She enjoyed square dancing and round dancing, and was a wonderful artist. Mrs. Lock was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Dothan where she was very involved and loved singing in the choir.

Mrs. Lock was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Beria Rice Hartzog, and by her brother, Fred Hartzog.

Survivors include her two sons, Glen (Therese) McCarty and Morris (Michelle) Hollis; her grandchildren, Britt McCarty, Stacey McCarty (Sean) Magonigal, Mathew Hollis, and Becky (Mike) Ricks; and her 11 great-grandchildren.
