George Kireta

George Kireta, affectionately known as George by friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 73. Born on May 11, 1950, in Pennsylvania, to the late George Kireta and Ann Medved Kireta. George was a man whose life was characterized by his loving nature, his handy skills, and his boundless creativity.

George is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Madeline Kireta, his cherished daughter, Monique Anderson, and his adored grandchildren, Michael Whaley (Jessica) and Tori Hysmith (Michael). He also leaves behind 4 great-grandchildren. He was a family man at heart, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his loved ones. George was predeceased by his parents, brother, Michael Kireta, and his brother-in-laws, Tim Baughn and Randall Chitty. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Diana Chitty, Annette Roberts (Gerald), Kathy Telhiard (Johnny), Claire Baughn, and Carole Wells (Jody), who will miss his warmth and guidance.

A proud disabled Army veteran, George dedicated his life to service and community. Following his time in the military, he channeled his work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit into co-owning R&F Tires with his wife, Madeline. Together, they built a thriving business that served their community and stood as a testament to their partnership.

George's passion for restoration shone brightly in his love for antique Corvettes. He found solace and joy in bringing these classic cars back to their former glory, a hobby that reflected his patience and attention to detail. As a collector of antique cars, George was known in the community for his extensive knowledge and his willingness to share it with fellow enthusiasts. His expertise was not just admired but also sought after by many who shared his passion. His hands were rarely still, as he was also an accomplished woodworker, a skill he learned from his father and honed throughout his life.

Music was another of George's great loves. A talented blues composer and guitarist, he could often be found strumming his guitar and crafting melodies that spoke to the soul. His music was a reflection of his deep emotional reservoir and his ability to connect with others on a profound level.

Above all, George was a man who loved his wife dearly. Their enduring romance was the cornerstone of their family, and their love story was one of mutual respect, laughter, and unwavering support. George's love extended to all aspects of his life, especially when it came to traveling in the motorhome with Madeline. Together, they explored new places, made lasting memories, and enjoyed the freedom of the open road.

George's legacy is one of love, service, and creativity. He lived his life with a generosity of spirit that touched everyone he met. His absence will be deeply felt, but the memories he created will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends.

As we say farewell to George Kireta, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life filled with purpose and joy. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his skilled hands, and his imaginative spirit. George's story is one that will be told with smiles and a warmth that he so readily shared during his time with us.
