Christine (Cobb) Thomas

Christine Cobb Thomas, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022. She was 81 years old.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hart Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11 am.

Christine was born on June 10, 1940 in Dothan and has resided here most of her life. She met and married Wilbert D. Thomas and together they would travel during his military career. She moved to Dothan in 1984 and would work with K Mart for several years until her retirement. Later Christine would become the director of the Midland City Senior Citizen Center. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers. Among her many other loves, was entertaining and cooking for her family and friends, sewing and crocheting. Christine was a member of the Elks Club for more than 50 years and where she made many wonderful friends and memories.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Thomas, by her daughter, Peggy Bighem, and by her son, Duane Bighem.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Christy Spann; her grandchildren, Christopher Bighem (Kia), Adrienne Bighem, Corinthia Garciasalas (Hugo), and Courtney Thomas; and a whole host of family and friends.
