Yolanda Ann Jones

January 24, 1967 — September 12, 2025

Yolanda Ann Jones, known affectionately as “YoYo” to all who knew her, passed away on September 12, 2025, at the age of 58 in Dothan, Alabama. Born in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, on January 24, 1967, Yolanda's early years were filled with the warmth and vibrancy that would come to define her entire life.

Yolanda was a beacon of love and joy, not only to her cherished family but to everyone she encountered. Her 35-year marriage to her beloved husband, Dr. Stephen Jones, was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Wesley Parker (Anastasia) Jones and Mabry Anne Jones, and delighted in the joys of their grandson, Max Monroe Jones. Yolanda's close-knit family also included her devoted brother, Stephen Clarke (Wendy) Johnson, her adored nieces and nephews, Stephen (Margaret) Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Cara Johnson, and Morgan Johnson and a beloved cousin, Belinda McAda. Yolanda was preceded in death by her brother, Marion Vernon Johnson.

After graduating from Choctawhatchee High School, she resided in Atlanta, Georgia and Augusta, Georgia. Yolanda and Stephen resided in Pensacola, Florida for several years before settling in Dothan, where they spent 25 fulfilling years. Her passion for design and artistry led her to start her own successful interior design business, through which she brought beauty and inspiration into the lives of others. Yolanda's creativity was not confined to her work; her love for painting and her artistic talents were evident in the beautiful spaces she created and the lives she touched.

A woman of deep faith, Yolanda was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dothan, where she shared her love and light with her church family. She was the embodiment of love, always selfless and dependable, brilliant in her insights, and beautiful both inside and out. Yolanda was a constant presence in the lives of those she loved, always finding time for them, no matter how busy she was. Her ability to see the beauty in everything and everyone made a lasting impact on those around her. She was a natural creator of beautiful things and a beautiful family.

Yolanda and her husband, Stephen, were childhood sweethearts who grew up together, their lives intertwining into a beautiful narrative of shared vision and mutual support. She made everyone around her richer in spirit and joy, and her legacy of love and creativity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A Celebration of Yolanda's life will be held at 5 pm on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Dothan with Dr. Taylor Rutland officiating. Friends and loved ones are invited to join the family at the church on Thursday from 4-5 pm to share in remembering and honoring Yolanda's extraordinary life. Yolanda will be laid to rest in Ramah Cemetery in Gordon, Georgia, on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 2 pm EST.

Yolanda Ann Jones was the epitome of a life well-lived, filled with love, faith, and creativity. Her spirit will forever be cherished and her memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration to all. She will be profoundly missed, yet her light will never fade.
