William Jordan Ogburn

William Jordan Ogburn Jr., known to family and friends as Bill, passed away on September 17, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama, at the age of 61.

Bill was born on August 16, 1965, in Enterprise, Alabama, to the late William Ogburn Sr. and the late Juanita Ogburn. He grew up with a strong work ethic, a practical mind, and a kind heart that would become defining parts of the life he lived. Bill attended Dothan High School and later built the foundation for a long career as a skilled CNC operator.

Throughout his working life, Bill was known as a hard worker who could be counted on to get the job done. He worked for many companies over the years and was most recently still employed at Service Machine in Dothan. He had a gift for working with his hands and was the kind of man who could fix just about anything. His ability to solve problems, his steady presence, and his dedication to his work earned him the respect of those who knew him best.

Bill loved the outdoors and found joy in simple, honest pleasures. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, canoeing, shooting, and boating. He was also a devoted Auburn fan. Those who knew him well knew that he carried a big-kid spirit throughout his life, and he could often be found enjoying the moment and making memories with the people around him.

Family was an important part of Bill’s life, and he treasured the many relationships that surrounded him. He was lovingly known as “Uncle Bill” to his nieces and nephews, Dillon Ward and his wife Danielle, Dustin Ward and his wife Brooke, Jenna Justice and her husband Brent, Hanna Rizzi and her fiancé Jacob Grant, and Emma Ross and her husband Tanner, and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Maddie Kate, Julia Mae, Barrett, Addy, Dakota, Daxon, Ivey, Demi, and Deacon. He is also survived by his special friend, Deborah Clark, and his sisters, Sheila Rizzi and her husband Glenn, and Leisha Ward and her husband David.

Bill’s dogs were truly his world, and he loved them deeply. His dog, Jax, held a special place in his heart and brought him companionship and comfort. His love for his dogs reflected the loyal and caring nature that so many will remember about him.

Bill will be remembered for his strong hands, his dependable spirit, and the warmth he brought into the lives of others. He lived in a way that reflected hard work, loyalty, and love for family, friends, and the outdoors. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed.

A graveside service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Park.
