Von Sam Moates

Von Sam Moates, a resident of Dothan passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at his home. He was 51.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Doug Tew and Rev. Kathy Stumbaugh officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.Mr. Moates was born on March 2, 1959. He was preceded in death by his father Von David Moates, Jr., his sister Vivian Moates Corley, a niece Yvette Renee Lolley, his father-in-law Bud Burns, and brother-in-law Gary Burns.Survivors include his wife Lynn Moates of Cowarts; children, Sara Elizabeth Joshua Wyatt, Christopher Aaron Ross, and Von Sam Cori Moates, Jr.; grandchildren, Hunter Lane Wyatt, Coston Charlie Wyatt, Preston Joel Wyatt, Christy Dawn Shaw, and Natalie Kate Moates; his mother Vera Clyde Moates and her husband Charlie Brannon; sisters, Venita Ed Crosby, Yvonne John Lolley, Fran Hal Newsome, and Ruth Donnie Johnson; special brother-in-law Lee Rucker; a special friend Henry DeLong; mother-in-law Georgia Burns; brothers-in-law Tommy Susan Burns and Stanley Wanda Burns.
