Timothy "Tim" Carl Floyd

Timothy Carl Floyd, known to many as Tim, passed away on September 13, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama, at the age of 58. He was born on October 15, 1967, in Geneva County, Alabama, and lived a life marked by hard work, quiet strength, faith, and a deep love for the people around him.

Tim was a man who carried himself with humility and dignity. He was soft-spoken, but those who knew him well understood that his quiet nature was often paired with a sharp sense of humor that could light up a room. He had a gentle spirit, a strong Christian faith, and a presence that brought comfort to family and friends. He was the kind of man who did not need to be loud to be remembered, because his character spoke for itself.

A proud graduate of Joy Christian Academy High School, Class of 1987, Tim carried the values of discipline and perseverance throughout his life. He was a hardworking businessman who owned Tim Floyd’s Collision Center, a paint and body shop, where he applied his skills, dedication, and work ethic to serving others. Through his business and his everyday life, he built a reputation for dependability, honesty, and craftsmanship.

Tim found joy in simple and meaningful things. He loved fishing and he enjoyed the peace that came with spending time outdoors. He was a devoted Alabama football fan, and he took pride in cheering for his team. He was also known as a great cook, especially when it came to grilling and making spaghetti, and many will remember the warmth and fellowship that came with sharing a meal prepared by him. He enjoyed western cowboy movies and was connected to UFC, interests that reflected the personality and passions he held close throughout his life.

Family was central to Tim’s life, and he treasured the people he loved. He is survived by his sons, Hudson Timothy Floyd (Audrey Jean) and Eli Haynes Floyd. He was a proud grandfather to Alora Jean Floyd. Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Floyd, his grandson, Judah James Floyd, and his brother, Johnny Phillip Floyd. He is also survived by his father, Carlton Floyd (Judy); his sisters, Pamela Keeble (Jody), Patsy Sauls (Tony), Tammy Pitchford (Andy), Elisha Callan (George), Tasha Harger (Jason), and Ciera Ingram (Chase). He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members who loved him dearly. He also shared special friendships with Jon Dixon and Brian McNeal, whose companionship meant a great deal to him.

Tim will be remembered for the way he lived his life with steadiness, kindness, and quiet humor. He was a man who valued faith, family, and hard work, and he left behind a legacy of love that will continue through those who knew him best. His memory will remain a source of comfort and strength to all who were blessed to have him in their lives.

Though his passing leaves a deep void, Tim’s life stands as a testimony to the importance of living with integrity, loving one’s family, and finding joy in the everyday blessings of life. His loved ones will remember his voice, his laughter, his cooking, his love of Alabama football, and the calm, steady way he moved through the world. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 2:30pm in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jason Duren, Pastor Thomas Harrison, and Reverend Dallas Pettis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:30pm at the funeral home.
