Col. (RET) Terry F. Green, 78, of Abbeville, Alabama went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday January the 30th, 2023 after a 3-year battle with cancer.
He left the military as a 24 year veteran of the Air Force and retired a second time from Boeing after a twenty year career there. His career in the Air Force was spent from its inception on the development and testing of the AWAC's radar system. His work led him to a 2-year liaison position with the Boeing Company early in his career, two years of exchange duty with the Navy and a 2-year assignment with NATO in the Netherlands. Remote postings included the Philippines and Alaska and numerous month-long assignments to Denmark, Australia, and other countries. He delighted in bringing back souvenirs to his family. His last assignment in the military was Base Commander at Duke Field near Eglin AFB, Fl.
He loved work of any kind, fishing, sometimes hiking with his wife in the Cascade Mountains of the Pacific NW where he lived most of the last 25 years and especially doing anything with his children and grandchildren. He was a beloved husband and an inspiration to many. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Rest peacefully dear Terry. We will meet again.
He is survived by his wife Dixie, daughter Carrie Riley (Dale), granddaughter Savannah and son Aaron (Jennifer) and grandchildren Grace, Susannah, and Parker as well as brothers Rodney Green (Faye) and Randy Green (Kim).
