Terry Dasinger, a resident of Midland City, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at her home. She was 75 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Blake Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Midland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Daysprings Hospice, 3160 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36305.
Terry was born on December 11, 1946 in Houston County, AL and lived her early years in Napier Field. She attended Dale County High School where she was a majorette and played the clarinet in the band. After marrying Jimmy Dasinger, she was a homemaker and devoted mother raising her children. When all her children were grown, Terry pursued a nursing degree from Wallace Community College. Terry was employed with Flowers Hospital as a registered nurse until her retirement in 2004. She was a member of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses. Terry's true love was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was known for her baking and always had something sweet to eat.
Terry was preceded in death by her parents, James and Evelyn Hartzog; son, Kevin Dasinger; brothers, Joe Hartzog and Jimmy Hartzog; and sisters, Helen (Verbon) Mathis and Joyce (AJ) Tice; and brothers-in-law, Paul Freeman, Gerald McAllister, and Roger Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jimmy Dasinger; children, Jeff (Natalie) Dasinger, Jana (Chris) Neudecker and Julie (Kevin Patton) Dasinger; grandchildren, Brittany Neudecker, Zachary (Anna) Neudecker, Emily (Austin) Bowden, Shania Stevens, and Sam Dasinger; great grandchildren, Isabella Bowden and Lucas Bowden; brothers, Bobby (Pat) Hartzog and Buddy (Pennie) Hartzog; sisters, Ann McCallister, Beverly Freeman, Lyn (Terry) Smith and Beth Smith; sisters-in-law, Betty Hartzog and Mary Hartzog; and several nieces and nephews.
