Robert Earl Beasley

July 11, 1945 — April 6, 2026

Robert Earl Beasley, a lifelong resident of Newton, Alabama, passed away on April 6, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on July 11, 1945, he lived a life marked by faith and devotion to the people, land, and animals he loved.

Robert graduated from Wicksburg High School in 1963, but his greatest education came from a lifetime spent tending to the land. A lifelong farmer, he raised peanuts, cotton, corn, and cattle with long days consisting of early mornings, late evenings, and a steadfast dedication through any season. Farming was not just his livelihood, but his calling, where he remained committed to the way of life that shaped him till the end, and he carried out that work with honesty, discipline, and pride.

Robert was the devoted husband to Ruby Mathis Beasley for 62 years. Together they built a strong family where Robert took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, and steady presence in the lives of those closest to him. He is survived by his children, Ashley Beasley (Lori), Bobby Beasley (Jade), and Chad Beasley (Erin). He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren who brought him great joy; Brody, Hunter, Parker, Tatum, and Jon Waylon. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Beasley Passarelli.

Robert lived each day to provide, protect, and lead by example with a strong belief in work, in keeping his word, and in putting family first. As an entrepreneur and a man who valued responsibility, Robert loved his animals and took great satisfaction in the life he built on the farm. He was hardworking, honest, and wise to many; qualities that were evident in the way he cared for others and in the way he carried himself. His stories and guidance leave behind a legacy of integrity, faith, and commitment and these memories will continue to bring strength to those who loved him.

Robert was a member of Mt. Hebron Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Earl Beasley and Erma D. Matthews Beasley, by his twin sister, Robbie Lea Beasley, and his sister, Mary Beasley Gilley.

Serving as pallbearers are his sons, Ashley Beasley, Bobby Beasley, and Chad Beasley, along with a special nephew, Phillip Gilley, brother-in-law Steven Mathis, and faithful assistant Donald Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Edwards and Lowell Williams.
