Robert P. "Bob" Coldiron, III, a steadfast and honorable man, passed away peacefully in Dothan, Alabama, on March 12, 2026. Born on May 30, 1937, in Danville, Kentucky, Bob's life was a testament to the values of God, family, and country, which he held dear to his heart until his last breath.

Bob's journey began as the cherished son of his parents, Robert Potter Coldiron, Jr. and Connie Lane Coldiron, in Danville, KY, where he spent his formative years. His life was one of dedicated service, as he retired as a Command Sergeant Major after over 20 years in the US Army. Bob's military career was distinguished by his service in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, where his bravery and leadership earned him the respect and admiration of those who served alongside him.

Known for his loving nature, Bob was a devoted husband to his late wife, Elderene Ball Coldiron, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Together, they built a family founded on love and resilience. Bob's legacy is carried on by his daughters, Laura Coldiron and Cathy Sahagun; his grandchildren, Joey Sahagun, Courtenay Nerbonne, Christine Bridges, and Casey Vaught; and his five great-grandchildren, who will miss his presence immensely. He is also survived by his sister, Wendy Allen. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved son, Robert Mark Coldiron, and his sisters, Carol Card and Diane Sharp, who now welcome him with open arms.

Bob's life was a reflection of his interests and values. A proud Veteran, he was a strong and independent man who raised his family with the same strength and independence. His love for fishing and Bible study provided him with tranquility and spiritual fulfillment. Bob was a man of integrity—what you saw was what you got with him. As a strict but loving father, he instilled in his children the importance of courage and faith.

Active in his community, Bob was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, where he served as a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus. His faith was a cornerstone of his existence, and he lived it out through his actions and commitment to his church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Bob at 11 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at St. Columba Catholic Church, with Father Jim Dane presiding. Bob will be laid to rest with full military honors beside his beloved wife at Sunset Memorial Park, ensuring they will be side by side for eternity.
