Rebecca Mae Meredith, affectionately known as Becky, passed away on December 29, 2025, at the age of 73. She was born on December 12, 1952, in Phenix City, Alabama, to the late Clarence Jefferson and Annie Will Nicholson.
Becky was raised in Phenix City and later made her home in Dothan, Alabama. Throughout her life, she was known for her strong faith, kind heart, and devotion to her family. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and a dedicated member of her church, where her presence and talents were a blessing to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ronnie Meredith; her parents; and her brother, Jeff Nicholson.
Becky is survived by her children, Clint Goss (Toby), Kim Hollis (Jason), Jeff Meredith, and Aimee Meredith; her grandchildren, Gavin, Hunter, Jacob, Anna (Gaven), Jessica, Britten, and Gregory (Megan); and her great-grandchildren, Easton, Elaina, Lizzie, Lawson, Haiden, Ian, and baby Ziva. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and dear friend, Phylis Nicholson; her best friend, Charlotte Burgess; and a loving church family, along with many friends and coworkers.
Becky was employed with Equifax Collections and later worked for many years in the business office at Flowers Hospital, where she was respected for her dedication and friendly demeanor.
Music played an important role in Becky’s life. She faithfully played the piano at church. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served for many years at Cedar Grove and numerous other churches. She was also a member of the choir and participated in the Wiregrass Gospel Choir, using her talents to glorify the Lord and encourage others.
Becky will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, friend, and coworker whose faith and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished by her family and friends, and her legacy of faith and love will live on.
A celebration of Becky’s life will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 2pm in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy White officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2pm on Friday. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery following services.
