Quintavious Deonte Daniels

Quintavious Deonte Daniels, affectionately known as Quin to his family and friends, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at the young age of 25. Born on August 28, 2000, Quin's journey through life was marked by an infectious smile that could light up any room, a love for music and television, and a spirit that proved stronger than the challenges he faced due to Cerebral Palsy.

Quin was the cherished son of Tomecia Daniels Balcom and her devoted husband, Ray Balcom. His grandparents, Essie and Isaac Doss, along with his aunts and uncles—Marie McNealy (Billy), Tiffany Doss, Estella "Sunshine" Eady, Kristopher Doss, Tasheka Doss, Demetric Doss, Yakia Doss, Marleny Doss, Zion Doss, Shalay Doss, and Jicobi Doss—provided a strong family foundation that nurtured Quin throughout his life. Quin was also survived by a host of special cousins. His journey was made more comfortable by the compassionate care of his special nurses, Jennifer Smith, Janice Horne, and Lynn Chan, who were like extended family members in their dedication to his well-being.

A proud graduate of Dothan High School in 2022, Quin's determination and resilience were an inspiration to his classmates and teachers alike. Despite the challenges of being non-verbal, he communicated joy and love in ways that words could never capture, teaching those around him the power of non-verbal expression and the importance of patience and understanding.

Quin's passion for gospel music filled the home with melodies that uplifted the spirits of everyone around him. His favorite television shows, particularly SpongeBob SquarePants and the comedic works of Jim Carey, brought him endless laughter and amusement. Quin's ability to find happiness in the simple pleasures of life reminded all who knew him of the beauty in the everyday.

As we mourn the loss of Quintavious Deonte Daniels, we also celebrate the remarkable life he led and the countless lives he touched with his unwavering positivity. Quin's legacy is one of courage, love, and the purest joy. His memory will forever be a beacon of light for his family, guiding them through the darkness with the same warmth and brightness that his smile provided during his time on earth.

Quin's life, though brief, was a testament to the human spirit's capacity to triumph over adversity. His family takes solace in knowing that his journey was filled with love and laughter, and that he is now at peace. Quin's story will continue to be told, his laughter will echo in the hearts of those who loved him, and his influence will remain as a powerful reminder of how one remarkable young man could make such a significant impact on the world around him.

A celebration of Quin’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
