Mrs. Eddie Dean White

Mrs. Eddie Dean White, 77, a resident of Newville passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home with Minister Helen Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. White was born July 8, 1936 in Henry County and has been a resident of Newville her entire life. She was employed as a teacher's aide at Union School for several years and also as a mail carrier and janitor at the Champion Lumber Company. Mrs. White enjoyed crafts, cooking and knitting.

Survivors include her daughter Cheryl Smith; sons, Curtis Mills, James Mills, Ray White, and Billy White; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ellis Mills, Burn Mills, and Roy Mills; sisters, Gastie Jackson and Lottie Daniels; a host of nieces and nephews.
