Marjorie "Marge" Lucille Brunskole

Marjorie “Marge” Lucille Brunskole, born October 3, 1935, passed away on September 12, 2026, leaving behind a life marked by devotion, warmth, strength, and a deep love for her family and friends.

Marge was born in Cramer, Pennsylvania as the fourth of five children to William Harry McLaughlin, Sr. and Twila Naugle McLaughlin. She grew up surrounded by family and learned early the value of hard work, faith, and togetherness. As a cheerful and friendly young woman, she was known for her engaging personality, her intelligence, and her natural ability to connect with others. She carried those gifts throughout her life and shared them generously with everyone who knew her.

At the age of 20, Marge began working in a government intelligence field in Washington, D.C., in 1955, an experience that reflected her sharp mind and capable spirit. During that chapter of her life, she met the love of her life and then husband of 63 years and embraced her most cherished role as a stay-at-home mother and later pursued a career in cosmetology and even owned her own salon. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her home and family, creating a warm and welcoming place filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aroma of meals made completely from scratch. Marge took pride in cooking everything by hand, and her family will long remember the care she poured into every meal and every gathering.

Marge and Ed together shared 63 years of marriage until his passing in 2019. Their life together was shaped by his service in the Air Force, which meant moving often and building a life wherever they were stationed. Marge met each new place with grace and resilience, and she carried a true gypsy soul that embraced adventure. After retirement, they traveled extensively in their 42-foot RV across the United States, making memories on the open road and enjoying the beauty of the country they loved to explore together.

She was an accomplished and enthusiastic bowler, coming close to professional level, and she also had a history of athletic ability from her younger years as a cheerleader, May Queen and participated in track. Marge loved being outside, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of fresh air, movement, and time spent with the people she loved. She was social by nature and treasured conversation, laughter, and fellowship. Her Christian faith was an important part of her life, and it guided her through both joyful seasons and difficult ones.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Stephen Brunskole; her son, Chad Douglas Brunskole; her parents, William Harry McLaughlin, Sr. and Twila Naugle McLaughlin; her brothers, William Harry McLaughlin, Jr., Jack McLaughlin, and Douglas McLaughlin. She is survived by her children, Steven Edward Brunskole (Marta), Daniel Kevin Brunskole (Nancy), and Brigitte Ann Campbell (Bruce). She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Kay Brunskole Cronan; her brother, George G. McLaughlin, her loving niece Karen Reedy, and many other nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

Marge was a proud grandmother to Brian Brunskole, Chad Brunskole, Brandon Brunskole, Taylor Brunskole, David Brunskole, Marlana Cimmino (Marc), Lauren Brunskole, Blair Campbell (Hannah), Derek Campbell, and Britton Terrell (Zac). She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Bailey Crook (Cole), Corey Campbell, Cooper Campbell, Campbell Ann Terrell, Mary James Terrell and Weston Cimmino, as well as great-great-grandchildren Olivia Crook and Luke Crook. Her family was the center of her world, and she loved each generation with unwavering devotion.

Marge will be remembered for her friendly spirit, her bright mind, her love of family, and her ability to make others feel welcome and valued. She lived a full and meaningful life, rich with movement, laughter, faith, and love. Her legacy will continue through the many lives she touched and the family she nurtured so faithfully.

A celebration of Marge’s life is scheduled to be held on September 28, 2026, at 11:00am, in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel at 1700 Barrington Road, Midland City, Alabama 36350. The family will be receiving friends an hour prior to the service. Marge and her husband, Edward, will be laid to rest together in Sunset Memorial Park.
