Mandy Virginia "Jenny" Durham, 89, passed on February 7, 2022 at the home of Louis and Michelle Durham in Ashford, Alabama. She resided with them for the past eight years till she died, peacefully in her sleep.
Jenny was born on December 4, 1932 at her family home in Cowarts, Alabama to the late Lydia Reese Conrad and Robert Nathan Conrad. She graduated from Ashford High School in 1951. Jenny married a soldier from Fort Rucker and moved to Kansas and later moved to Peru, Indiana. There, she found employment at Laidlaw Corp. Due to unfair labor practices, they went on strike that lasted from 1966-1968. They closed their factory soon after and the building was purchased by Square D; and this is where she finished her employment until she retired at 70. While raising 3 kids, she single handedly squeezed in time to be a Cub Scout Leader. She found time to read which was a lifetime passion till the day she was pulled to Heaven.
Jenny was preceded in death by her oldest son, Robert Durham who passed in 1998; her grandchild, Shawn Durham; and siblings, Mary Kate Bermudes and Thornell Conrad.
She is survived by her son, Louis Durham and his wife, Michelle Durham; her daughter, Donna & Rick Buck; her grandchildren, Ian Durham, Cheyenna and Chris Skinner, Tycen and Kori Durham, Dustin and Emily Durham, Travis and Charlene Durham, Troy Durham, Corey and Brandon Ketola, Brandy Durham, Joshua and Trish Baldwin, Joey and Beth Baldwin; great-grandchildren: Jordan, William, Jennifer, Kayla, Carter, Myles, Corbin, Ema, Katie, Joey, Ethan, Gabriel; great-great- grandchildren, Lucca, Akeem, Jameson; and siblings, Joan Alan Creel, Myra Joe Lindley and Patricia Ann Conrad.
Per Jenny's final wishes, no memorial service will be held.
