Mamie Lois Crawley, age 89, of Headland, Alabama, passed away on July 20, 2026, leaving behind a life filled with love, faith, strength, and devotion to her family.
Born on August 10, 1936, in Abbeville, Alabama, Mamie was the daughter of the late John and Paulene Boatwright. She was a kind and determined woman who valued faith, family, and hard work. Those who knew her will remember her warm heart, quiet strength, and graceful spirit.
Mamie worked for more than 20 years at GE Aerospace in Evendale, Ohio, where she served as a section manager. She was respected for her strong work ethic, leadership, and dedication, and she took great pride in the life she built through her hard work.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and she attended Dothan Community Church in Dothan, Alabama. She found comfort in her faith and lived each day with gratitude, kindness, and dignity.
Mamie enjoyed cooking, shopping, decorating her home, and expressing her unique sense of style. She especially loved the color red and was well known for her impressive shoe collection. She had a gift for making her home feel warm and welcoming and found joy in life's simple pleasures.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Paulene Boatwright; her husband, Lawrence Washington Crawley; her longtime companion, R.C. Lee; her sons, Dale Crawley and Reginald Boatwright; her brothers, Junior Boatwright and Lester Boatwright; and her daughter in law, Shelia Simpson.
Mamie is survived by her children, Lawrence Crawley, and Stephanie Crawley; her grandchildren, Ajamon Boatwright, Rasheem Boatwright, Isaac Crawley, Manny Crawley, Christina Crawley, and Brian Crawley; her great-grandchildren, Alianna Vasquez, Aneela Crawley, Esme Crawley, Ozell Crawley, Brayden Boatwright, and Beverly Boatwright; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Lawrenceville, AL.
