Larry Clyde Register

Larry Clyde Register was born July 5, 1938, in Taylor, Alabama, to Alley J. and Margaret Cook Register. He passed peacefully at home on November 29, 2021.
Larry was a 1956 graduate of Dothan High School after which he volunteered and served two years in the United States Army. He then went on to graduate from The University of Alabama and returned to Dothan to work with the Dothan Chamber of Commerce.
Larry married the former Brenda "Sue" Gillis of Hartford, Alabama, on January 28, 1967. Together they established Register Realty Company, Inc. in 1969. Larry also served one term in the Alabama State Senate from 1970-1974 and one term as Mayor of the City of Dothan from 1985-1989.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sue, and his four children: Brenda Leigh Register, Forrest Earle Register (Liza), Betsy Register May (Robert), and Charles Sinnett Register; three grandchildren: Brack Avery and Ava Bay Register, and Mason Lee May; and one brother: Carol "Bruce" Register (Marie).
The family is grateful for the caregiver services provided through Wiregrass Homecare; especially, Takeyla Robinson, his primary caregiver of four and a half years.
