Kevin Patrick Everett, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2023, in Dothan, Alabama. Born to the late Johnnie and Arlene Everett on March 17, 1961, at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. Kevin was a compassionate and kind soul who touched the lives of many throughout his 62 years.
The son of a military father, Kevin's family moved often during his childhood, providing him with a wealth of diverse experiences. He graduated from Tehran American School in 1978 and went on to forge a successful career for himself.
Kevin's work history was as varied and interesting as his upbringing. He drove a truck for many years, traversing the country and experiencing its vast beauty. His love for woodworking led him to become a skilled carpenter, and his handy nature meant he could repair or fix anything. Kevin also owned an antique furniture refinishing shop for several years, sharing his passion for history and craftsmanship with others.
Kevin's interests extended beyond his professional life. He loved to travel. His selfless spirit and heart for people made him a gift to the world, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Jennifer Everett, and their children, J Matthew Everett (Ashton), William Tyler Everett, and Michael Burchette (Elizabeth). He was a devoted grandfather to Emmett and a beloved brother to Faron Everett (Regina) and Debbie Plybon (Wes). Kevin also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends who loved him dearly.
"Those who stand firm during testing are Blessed. They are tried and true. They will receive the life God has promised to those who love Him as their reward." James 1:12
A celebration of Kevin's life will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, June 29, 2023 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sidney Miller officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-2 pm. Flowers are being accepted.
May we all find comfort in the memories we shared with Kevin and honor his legacy by embracing the world with the same passion and warmth he did. Rest in peace, Kevin Patrick Everett. You were a special soul, a gift to the world who will be greatly missed.
