Jerry Hart King, age 80, of Howard Creek Community, Florida, passed away on September 3, 2026. He was born on September 7, 1945, in Pinckard, Alabama, where he spent his early years and formed the foundation of a life marked by steady work, quiet strength, and deep appreciation for the simple things.

Jerry lived a life that reflected dedication, humility, and a strong sense of responsibility. He graduated from Riverside Military School and later served his country in the Army Reserves for four years. After completing his military service, he returned to Pinckard, where he resumed the life he knew best and devoted himself to farming. His work ethic and commitment to his community were evident in everything he did, and he eventually purchased the K & N Peanut buying point, where he worked for several years until his retirement in 2006. During that time, he also served as president of the peanut buying point association, a role that reflected the respect he earned from those who knew him and worked alongside him.

Those who knew Jerry will remember him as a man of few words, very quiet in nature, with a dry sense of humor that often revealed itself in subtle and memorable ways. He kept to himself, but his presence was steady and dependable, and those closest to him understood the kindness and sincerity that lived beneath his reserved manner. He is survived by his daughter, Brandi Andrews and her husband Eric, as well as three grandchildren, Hardy Ethridge, Hank Ethridge, and Ranah Kate Ethridge. He also leaves behind his loving companion, Diane Henderson, who shared in his life and companionship. His family will remember him with love and gratitude for the example he set through his steady presence, his work, and the values he carried throughout his life.

Jerry’s life was one of quiet perseverance and unwavering devotion to the path he chose.
