Janice Marie (Mckenzie) Myers

Janice Marie Myers, a resident of Ashford, Alabama passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 in a local hospital. She was 62 years old.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Franklin D. Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10-11 am.

Janice was born on February 13, 1960 in Montgomery, Alabama and lived in Dothan the earlier years of her life. She attended Carver Middle School and then moved to Ashford after school. After going to school she worked a few jobs then stayed home to take care of her two loving daughters and her husband, Darrell. Janice was an avid Alabama Fan, loved freshwater fishing, and playing charitable Bingo at the VFW and the Shriners. She truly had a heart of gold and loved taking care of the children and the elderly in her life.

Janice was preceded in death by her father, Don McKenzie, her nephews, Tommy Lyste and Robert McKenzie, her sister, Sandy McKenzie, and by her brother, Ricky McKenzie.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell Myers; her children, Sonja (Gary) Duke, Shana (TJ) Luck, Mark Moorefield; her grandchildren, Jeremiah Moorefield and Jacey Moorefield; her mother, Faye Gamble; her brothers, Lynn (Rhonda) McKenzie and Max (Debra) Myers; her sisters, Donna Sasser and June (Keith) Childs; her special friends, Pam Parrish and Betty DeVosse; and several nieces and nephews.
