James Solomon Sullivan

Dr. James Solomon Sullivan, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, February 29, 2016 at Flowers Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Dr. Sullivan is survived by his wife, Anita Patterson Sullivan; son, Dr. Manly Jackson Sullivan and wife Dr. Mary Linda of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; a daughter, Mary Ana Sullivan of Birmingham, Alabama; and grandchildren, Ana Caroline Sullivan, Susan McDaniel Sullivan, Jackson Solomon Sullivan, and Sophia Patterson Sullivan-Newport.

He was a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School, The University of Alabama and The University of Alabama Medical School. He was a member of The University of Alabama basketball team and the Alabama A-Club. He practiced medicine for many years at Flowers Hospital.

There will be a memorial service in Tuscaloosa, Alabama his hometown, at First Baptist Church Chapel Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society, Wounded Warriors or a charity of your choice.
