He was a protective and nurturing brother to Jamal and Moses McLeod, Jaquinton Ward, Jessica Ward, and DeAnna Ward. James's life was further enriched by the unwavering support and camaraderie of his special uncles, Moses Thomas and Chad McLeod, and a host of uncles, aunties, and cousins who will miss him dearly. He is also survived by two special godmothers, Liza White and Betty Henderson.


James attended Enterprise High School, where he laid the foundation for his strong work ethic and community involvement. He carried these values throughout his life, contributing to his success and reputation as a dedicated and hardworking individual. James took immense pride in his work at Sunland in Marianna, Florida, where he was known for his meticulous groundskeeping. His entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as the owner of J & J Lawncare, where he not only cultivated landscapes but also lasting relationships with those he served.


An avid outdoorsman, James found solace and joy in pond fishing and deer hunting, activities that allowed him to embrace the beauty of nature and the simplicity of life. His love for dance and music was infectious, often being the spark that lit up gatherings and turned ordinary moments into cherished memories. James's ability to lift spirits was unparalleled; he was always in good spirits, regardless of life's challenges.


Known for his genuine nature, James was a great father who instilled values of kindness and humility in his children. His family-oriented approach to life was evident in the way he cared for his mother and the special bond he shared with each of his siblings. His presence was a source of comfort and strength, as he was always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
