Glois Webb Speigner died on March 3rd, 2023 at Whitehall Assisted Living Facility. She was 79 years old.
A longtime resident of Dothan, she was born in McRae, Georgia to the late Wylie Clinton Webb and Glennie Boyd Webb. She married the late Donald Havird Speigner, Sr. and moved to Dothan where she made her home and raised a family.
Her life was defined by her character and fierce loyalty to friends, family, and anyone in need. She used her talents coupled with her common sense to write a column for the Dothan Eagle for several years. She provided meals, a welcoming house, love, advice, to family and friends and her special friends that she would always invite to holiday meals. She gave without the need for recognition.
In lieu of food, flowers, or memorial contributions, Glois has asked that if anyone wishes to recognize her, they do so by visiting, or taking food to, an old friend in her memory.
Glois was preceded in death by her husband Don. She is survived by her three sons, Don Speigner, Jr., Birmingham, Webb Speigner (Lorri), and Lee Speigner (Jane Leslie), Birmingham; six grandchildren, Sydney Speigner, Hollan Speigner, William Speigner, Addison Speigner, Thomas Speigner, and Amelia Lee Glenn Speigner; and a great granddaughter, Mary Hollan Curry.
A graveside service will be held at Memory Hill Cemetery on Monday, March 6th, at 1:00pm.
The family would like to thank all of the special caregivers who became a part of our family, most importantly Della. We would especially like to thank the staff at Whitehall Assisted Living for their care and support.
