George Howard Hall

March 26, 1935 — February 25, 2026

George Hall, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, at the age of 90 in Dothan, Alabama. Born on March 26, 1935, in Midland City, Alabama, George's life was defined by his unwavering devotion to his family, his work ethic, and his generous spirit.

George was the cornerstone of his family, survived by his loyal and loving wife of 73 years, Louise Reeder Hall. Their enduring partnership was a testament to true love and commitment. He was a cherished father to his daughters, Georgia (Larry) Givens, Kay Gerber, Tina Hall, and Geena Walsh, and a respected father-in-law to Mark Stanford. The legacy of his kind-hearted nature lives on through his grandchildren, Shane Givens (Sue), Trent Givens (Somer), Brad McKnight (Sheila), Chad McKnight (Ana), Matt McKnight, and Nicole Grider (Andy), as well as his adored great-grandchildren, Miles, Matthew, Audrey Givens, Bryce, Dylan, Savannah, Easton, Sawyer, Kaylee McKnight, Liberty Fountain, Leighana Lee, Gracie, and Gavin Grider. He also leaves behind a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends.

George's life was one of service and dedication, not only to his family but also to his community. He attended Midland City High School, where he showcased his athleticism and team spirit on the football and basketball teams. He later translated his commitment to teamwork and leadership into a successful career, working for 30 years at Couch Construction as a superintendent. He also contributed his skills to Dothan Glass and Pittsburgh Paint, where his work was characterized by precision and reliability.

An avid fisherman, George found peace and joy in the simple pleasure of fishing on the Florida River. He also had a love for Alabama Crimson Tide football, never missing a chance to support his team each season. He had a knack for creating special moments, dressing as Santa Claus for his grandchildren year after year, much to their delight. George was known as the best dad and a good man, always ensuring that his love for his wife was evident as they were never apart throughout life’s journey.

Friends and family will remember George as a friendly and loving individual who always had a smile and a kind word for those around him. His presence brought warmth and comfort to any gathering, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. George's life was enriched by his special friendships with Mike Murphrey, Charles Owens, Glenn Phillips, and Faye Turner.

While we mourn the loss of George Hall, we also celebrate a life well-lived. His memory will continue to inspire us to cherish our loved ones, to commit wholeheartedly to our life's work, and to spread kindness wherever we go. Preceded in death by his daughter, Fay Stanford; son-in-law, Greg Gerber; parents, Quincy and Nora Hall; and sister, Helen Loff, George leaves behind a family that will honor his legacy by living out the values he embodied.

George's life story is one of dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear. As we say farewell to this remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing that his influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.
