Evon Verrell Blackwell, Jr. a resident of Dothan passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Flowers Hospital. He was 69.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Maurice McNab officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.Mr. Blackwell was born on July 14, 1940 in Electric Mills, Mississippi. He has resided in Dothan since 2001. Mr. Blackwell was preceded in death by his parents E.V. Blackwell, Sr. and Louise Blackwell, a daughter Linda Diane Blackwell, a brother Joel Blackwell, and a sister Linda Childers.Survivors include his wife Jean Blackwell; a daughter Nicia Williams; a grandson Calvin Pickett; brothers, Roy Blackwell and Ben Blackwell. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
