Essie Mae Thomas, a resident of Hartford, AL passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Flowers Hospital. She was 66.
Memorial services will be held 4 pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends following the services.
Ms. Thomas was born February 10, 1943 in Bonifay, FL and lived there the early part of her life. She resided in Ft. Pierce, FL for over 20 years and moved to Slocomb in 2007. She was a homemaker and attended Kingdom Hall.rnSurvivors include her children, a son Maurice Garris of Port. St. Lucie, FL, two daughters, Lorrie Edward Hatcher of Black, AL and Marsha Tolley of Hartford, AL; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a former husband, Ashley Joe Thomas of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Gerald Railey of Ft. Pierce, FL; a sister, Evelyn Womble of Geneva, AL; several nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
