Elizabeth Ann (Pasley) Prillaman

August 8, 1941 — January 10, 2024

Dothan

Elizabeth Ann Prillaman, known affectionately by all as Betty, was a beacon of kindness and generosity whose light ceased to shine on January 10, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama, following a recent illness. Betty entered this world on August 8, 1941, and throughout her 82 years of life, she embodied the spirit of love and selflessness that touched everyone she met.

Betty's legacy is one of enduring love and dedication, most notably shared with her beloved husband, Sam Prillaman, who preceded her in death just weeks prior, after 58 years of marriage. Together, they created a sanctuary of warmth and compassion not only for each other but for all living creatures. Their home was a haven for stray animals, a testament to their caring nature.

Her professional journey was marked by 25 years of committed service to the Federal Land Bank, from which she retired in 2003. But Betty's contributions extended beyond her work; she and her husband, Sam, were an active member of the Evergreen Presbyterian Church.

Betty's interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt. Whether it was her love for animals, her passion for helping organizations like the Wiregrass Humane Society and Save-a-Pet, or her simple yet profound acts of kindness, she was always looking for ways to contribute positively to the world around her. She is survived by her friends, Keith Johnson, Elaine Johnson, Jacqueline Plunkett, and Nancy Coates.

An inspiration to all, Betty was never one to sit idle. Her zest for life was evident in her active engagement with people and projects, always asking, "What can I do to help?" Even her sweet tooth had a way of bringing joy, as she savored life's simple pleasures like chocolate kisses and Frosty's from Wendy's with the same enthusiasm she brought to her community endeavors.

Betty was a person of substance, embodying the attributes of being loving, selfless, and generous. Her presence was a gift to those who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will continue to inspire long after her passing.

A celebration of life for Betty will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Keith Evans. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial contributions be made to The Wiregrass Humane Society, www.wiregrasshumanesociety.com or to Evergreen Presbyterian Church.
