Edward Lincoln Forehand

Edward Lincoln Forehand, of Dothan, AL passed away, Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the age of 81.

Born on September 5, 1944, Edward was the cherished son of the late Algus and Annie Forehand. Edward was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He loved his Lord, Jesus Christ with all of his heart and wanted to tell anyone who would listen that Jesus is our only hope in life. In his early years, he loved flying his airplane and even made the headlines of a newspaper “On a Wing and a Prayer" in an emergency landing, so you see it pays to keep God as our pilot in every situation in life. Edward also enjoyed playing his bass guitar in church and also played bass and sang with several singing groups throughout his life. He was the owner and operator of Gospel World Christian Supply for 25 years with multiple locations.

Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Forehand, and his legacy continues through his children, Teresa Wells (Keith), Eddie Forehand, Shawn Lloyd (Pam), Amanda Anderson; his adored grandchildren, Blake Dorminey, Jarred Dorminey, Lauren Dorminey, Kayla Lloyd, Tanner Love, Tommy Love, Keith Jr. Wells, Erica Wells and Keegan Wells; and his great grandchildren, Kase, Carter, Rilynn, Skylar, Emma Lee, and Ariel. He also leaves behind his siblings, Betty Wood and Eugene Forehand (Jean) as well as several nieces and nephews.

In Addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn Forehand and Angelyn Bass, and his brother, William Forehand.

Edward Forehand will always be remembered as a man of strong faith in Jesus Christ and wanted to tell others how they could also know Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. He will be deeply missed and we take comfort in knowing that he knew a man named “Jesus” and is finally home with his Heavenly Father.

A Celebration of Edward’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Troy West and Rev. Robert Hamilton officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am at the funeral home. Edward will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers are Jarred Dorminey, Tanner Love, Thomas Love, Jeremy Forehand, Drake Forehand, and Brad Forehand.
