Dennis Aldon Boston, Sr., a vibrant soul whose zest for life was as vast as the open sea, passed away on June 3, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama. Dennis, who was born on July 26, 1946, in the musical city of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, grew up with the rhythm of the South flowing through his veins and carried that harmony into every facet of his life.
Dennis, lovingly referred to by those who knew him best, made his mark in the world through his dedication to his work in the pharmaceutical industry. His career spanned a remarkable 41 years, where he garnered numerous accolades for his contributions, particularly during his tenure with Pfizer. His professional legacy is marked by the passion and integrity he brought to his field each day.
He shared 21 beautiful years with his beloved wife, Rita Boston, a partnership that was anchored in love and mutual respect. Survivors include his son, Dennis "Dab" (Cynthia) Boston, Jr., and daughter, Holly Henderson. Dennis was a patriarch in the truest sense, his pride for his family shining brightest through his grandchildren, Dennis "Aldon" (Sonja) Boston, III, Lee (Cat) Chapman, Wayne (Linda) Britton, Elijah Britton, and Matthew (Whitney) Britton, also survived by his sister, Jan Crump, and nephews, Clayton Henderson and Cory Henderson. All will fondly remember him for his guidance and the countless memories they built together. He was a man whose love knew no bounds, extending to every member of his cherished family.
A graduate of the University of North Alabama College in Florence, Alabama, Dennis's thirst for knowledge was as insatiable as his love for adventure. He was a free spirit who colored outside the lines, never shying away from the opportunity to try something new. Dennis was a go-getter, a trait that served him well both professionally and personally.
His love for the outdoors was a testament to his free-spirited nature. Boating on his Sea Ray Cruiser from Panama City Beach to Key West, Florida, was a source of joy and tranquility. He was equally passionate about his Harley, often seen riding alongside Rita, exploring the world with the wind at their backs.
Dennis loved living in Panama City Beach, Florida and felt blessed to spend summers in Creede, Colorado, loving the mountains and nature.
Always active in his community, Dennis was a proud member of the Dothan Elks Lodge and the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Dothan, Alabama. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him with grace and providing strength in times of need.
Loving, adventurous, and faith-filled are words that only begin to scratch the surface of who Dennis was. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the courage to live life to the fullest.
A celebration of Dennis's life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Father John Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-2 pm. It is without a doubt that Dennis Aldon Boston, Sr.'s memory will continue to inspire and bring joy to all who were blessed to know him.
