Deborah Wisteen Whitehead

Deborah Wisteen "Debbie" Whitehead passed away on April 23, 2026. She was born on April 13, 1955, in Dothan, Alabama, and lived a life defined by devotion to her family, a strong work ethic, and a gentle spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Neva and James White, Sr.; and her sister-in-law, Stephanie White.

She is survived by her son, Anthony Whitehead of Dothan; her former husband, Billy Whitehead, Jr.; her brothers, Jim White of Dothan and Tim White (Robyne) of Oklahoma; her sister, Vanessa White of Plano, Texas; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Debbie was a graduate of Dothan High School and carried the values of hard work and perseverance with her throughout her life. She began her career at Colonial Bakery Thrift Store and later worked at Wilbros before finding her long-term home with Globe Motors where she worked for over 27 years. She began as a secretary and worked up to becoming a purchasing agent. She became known for her reliability, attention to detail, and quiet dedication.

She attended Southside Baptist Church, where she found comfort in her faith. Debbie also enjoyed her involvement with Special Olympics, where she supported and encouraged her son, Anthony. Through this, she formed meaningful connections and cherished many special memories.Though she lived in different places throughout her life, she was at heart a homebody who found joy in simple, familiar surroundings and quiet moments.

Above all, Debbie's greatest love was her son. Her life reflected a deep and abiding devotion to her family, expressed through steady presence, kindness, and care. She did not seek recognition, but those who knew her will remember her for her warm heart, her gentle nature, and her unwavering love for those closest to her.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A celebration of Debbie's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Debbie will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park.
