David Allen Tice

November 28, 2007 — February 8, 2026

David Allen “Boot” “Ashtyn” Tice, known affectionately to all as Boot, passed away on February 8, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Born in Marianna, Florida, on November 28, 2007, to loving parents Justin Tice and Joanne Hunter. Boot’s life was a testament to the joy and light he brought into the world. His mother, Cynthia Tice, his aunt and uncle, Courtney Tice and Bobby Tice, his grandparents, Donald Yohn, Leona Yohn, Bobby Deese, Betty Lux, and Bill Lux, along with his great-grandparents, Jane Owens and Joan Brandt, are left to cherish his memory and the moments they shared. Boot's siblings—Jeremiah Deese, Joshua Deese, Gabryell Smith, Arrilynn Trinity Tice, Michaela Deese, and Bella Cooley—remember him as a beacon of love and friendship, as do a host of cousins and friends who also survive him. David was preceded in death by his father, David Tice and by his sister, Cortney McCullough.

Boot's academic journey was a bright one, as he was a dedicated Junior at Rehobeth High School, where he was known for his intelligence and friendly nature. He balanced his studies with work, serving as a host at La Parilla Mexican Restaurant, where his cheerful disposition welcomed guests and brightened their days.

A young man of many talents and interests, Boot's passion for music shone through every note he sang. His favorite music artist, The Band Perry, inspired him to embrace his own musical gifts. Boot's vibrant personality was nothing short of eccentric; he cared deeply for others, and his love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He possessed a rare quality of making every person he met feel like the most important person in the world, and he never hesitated to share a kind word or a sincere compliment.

Boot's presence was a gift to all who knew him, and his memory will be celebrated on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 4 pm at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Charles Goldsmith officiating. Boot will be laid to rest in the serene Sunset Memorial Park. Friends and family are welcome to gather and share memories on Friday from 3-4 pm at the funeral home.

The honor of serving as active pallbearers has been bestowed upon John David McCullough, Jeremy McCullough, David Tice, Keimen Vazquez, Bobby Deese, and Tyler Tice, who will carry Boot to his final resting place with the same love and respect he showed to everyone.

David Allen Tice's life was a melody of loving moments, intelligent conversations, and friendly smiles that touched the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy will continue to resonate through the lives he impacted and the joy he spread. Boot's song may have ended too soon, but the music of his life will play on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
