David Allen “Boot” Tice, born November 28, 2007, went home to Jesus on February 8, 2026. Though his time on earth was far too short, Boot left behind a light that even death cannot diminish. His life brought joy to everyone he met, and he will be remembered for his heart of gold, his love of music, and his gift for uplifting others with kind words and heartfelt compliments.
Boot was lovingly raised and guided by his mother, Cynthia Tice. He was preceded in by his father, James David Tice, who passed on January 10, 2021. Stepping in with love and support to help raise him were Cortney Tice; Bobby Tice; J.D. and Sarah McCullough; JeremyMcCullough and Christina Owen; and Tyler and Lisa Tice. His biological parents, Justin Tice and Joanne Hunter, brought his beautiful soul into this world.
He leaves behind his cherished sisters, Arrilynn Tice and Bella Cooley. Boot is also survived by his grandparents Bill and Betty Lux and Bobby Deese, and his great-grandmother Jane Owens. He will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews: Abby, Brady, Tripp, Logan, Linleigh, Lynnox, Leo, Pay Pay, Harleigh, Preston, Gavin, and Jade.
Boot shared a special bond with his best friend and cousin, Kane Buckhalt, and with his close friends Alexis, Kai, and Keiman, along with many others whose lives he touched. He is also survived by his loving aunts and uncles: SheraCooley (Vann), Bobby Deese (Brandy), Billy Tice (Joy), Travis Tice (Candice), Sharon Danford (Todd), and Robin Crockett (Dave).
He was also preceded in death by his sister Cortney McCullough and his grandparents Patsy Watkins, Willie Tice, and Hilda Deese.
David Allen “Boot” Tice will be forever remembered for the warmth he brought into the world and the love he shared so freely. His memory will be celebrated on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 4 pm at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Vann Cooley officiating. Boot will be laid to rest in the serene Sunset Memorial Park. Friends and family are welcome to gather and share memories on Friday from 3-4 pm at the funeral home.
