Cynthia Nannette Hubbert

June 29, 1954 — December 13, 2019

Cynthia Nannette Hubbert, a remarkable woman known for her intelligence, kindness, and passionate spirit, passed away on December 13, 2019, in Lexington, South Carolina. Born on June 29, 1954, in Dothan, Alabama, Cynthia was a beacon of light to all who knew her, embodying the virtues of diligence and perfection in every endeavor she undertook.

A proud graduate of Dale County High School in 1972, Cynthia's love for learning took her to Wallace Community College, where she furthered her education. She channeled her academic achievements into a successful career, initially working with AAA Cooper as a data processor. Cynthia's ambition and entrepreneurial spirit later led her to start her own company in computer programming, which paved the way for her eventual role at Great Southern, where she worked until her well-earned retirement.

Cynthia's contributions to her workplace were paralleled by her involvement in her community. As a devout Christian, she found solace and strength in her faith and was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Her beliefs were not just confined to the spiritual realm; they were reflected in her daily interactions with those around her, leaving a lasting impact on her friends, colleagues, and loved ones.

Beyond her professional and spiritual commitments, Cynthia had a deep appreciation for the finer things in life. She was an avid collector of porcelain dolls and art, a hobby that showcased her eye for beauty and detail. Cynthia's home was a testament to her passions, each piece carefully selected and lovingly displayed.

Cynthia was the cherished daughter of the late Billy Charles Newton and Jeanette Chapman Newton. She leaves behind her brother, Billy "David" Newton. Cynthia was also blessed with the guidance and love of her aunt, Evelyn Green, and she leaves behind a host of cousins who will miss her dearly.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Cynthia will remember her as a woman of great character. Her intelligence shone brightly, whether she was solving complex problems at work or engaging in thoughtful conversation. Kindness was her guiding principle, evident in her compassionate dealings with everyone she met. Above all, Cynthia was passionate about her pursuits, a trait that inspired others to follow their dreams with the same fervor.
