Christina Kent died on November 4, 2025, at her home in Dothan, Alabama. Christina was born to Diana Padgett and Jimmy Canada in Titusville, Florida, on January 13, 1975. At the age of 13, after various foster care placements, she was adopted as the younger daughter of Tom and Marian Price in Orlando, Florida. She attended Park Lake Presbyterian Church, Howard Middle School, and Boone High School.
At age eighteen, Christina moved to Alabama, where she had biological relatives, and she made her home in Skipperville, Eufaula, and Dothan. She had her only child, Mikie Tyler Gassett, with Mikie Gassett in Skipperville. Later she married the late Jeff Kent of Eufaula. At the time of her death, her partner was Nate Quire of Dothan
During her time in Eufaula, Christina attended Wallace Community College and earned her Associate of Science degree.
Both she and Nate worked with people living with substance use disorder to bring them into recovery. Christina is remembered as a compassionate peer counselor and friend to many in Dothan and elsewhere in Alabama.
Christina devoted her last years to helping others heal. She was a Certified Recovery Support Specialist, a Certified Peer Support Specialist, a Certified Case Manager, and a Faith-Based Support Specialist, all certified through the Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH). She worked in the recovery field at Kolbe Detox, Aletheia House, and People Engaged in Recovery (PEIR), where she poured her heart into guiding people through their first steps toward healing, stability, and hope.
Christina is cherished by her family and friends for her creativity, kind heart, keen intelligence, sense of humor, and beautiful spirit. We will all miss her.
She is survived by her parents, her sister Amy Green, her son and his four children, her partner, her biological mother and her biological brother and sister, Rick Adams and Barbara McDonald, as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Memorial services will be held at Eastgate Lake Pavilion in Dothan on December 14 at 3:00 and at Park Lake Presbyterian Church, 309 E Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32801 on January 17 at 11:00.
