Cheryl Ann Lavoie

Mar 2, 1951 — Jul 12, 2026

Cheryl Ann Fees Lavoie, age 75, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026.

Born on March 2, 1951, in Steubenville, Ohio, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Edwin Fees and Ruth Adell Walters. She lived a life centered on her family, her faith, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.

She is survived by her children, David Lavoie (Sunshine), and Karen Lavoie; her grandchildren, Kinsley Beach (Ashten), Elora Lavoie, and Logan Lavoie; her great-granddaughter, Carmen Beach; her siblings, Donald Fees (Linda), Kevin Fees (Amy), Deborah Grote, and Barbara DeaKyne; along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Cheryl valued education and graduated Cum Laude from Thomas Nelson College. Throughout her career, she worked in administrative positions where she was known for being dependable, organized, and kind to everyone she met. She took pride in her work and earned the respect of those who had the privilege of working alongside her.

A devoted Catholic, Cheryl's faith was an important part of her life and guided the compassion and kindness she showed to others every day.

She had a creative spirit and loved arts and crafts, always enjoying projects that let her imagination shine. She also loved working crossword puzzles, playing board games like Boggle, and spending time playing video games with her children. Those moments, filled with laughter and friendly competition, became treasured memories for her family.

More than anything, Cheryl loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to encourage them, celebrate their accomplishments, or simply enjoy being together. Her family was always her greatest source of pride and joy.

Cheryl will be remembered for her gentle heart, her creativity, and the genuine kindness she shared so freely. She had a way of making people feel welcome, loved, and important, and her quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 2pm in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
