Carolyn Elizabeth Vinson

Carolyn Devane Vinson, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Dothan, Alabama, on February 2, 2026.

Born on September 21, 1943, Carolyn was the daughter of Orbie and Jewel Devane. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Glyndia Smith (Johnny Frank); and her brother, Orbie Jr. Devane.

Carolyn’s life was centered around the love she had for her family. She is lovingly remembered by her four daughters: Susan Perez (Dan), Sandy Strickland (Rick), Charlotte Ford, and Kaleigh Ard (James). Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She also leaves behind a dear sister-in-law, Pat Devane, along with numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Spending time with family and friends brought Carolyn immense joy throughout her life. Her warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date to honor Carolyn’s memory.
