Billy Gene Hall, known to friends and family as Bill, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2023, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on June 2, 1948, in Adel, Georgia, he lived a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

Military honors will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00am at Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Bill is survived by his wife, Suzette Hall, along with his daughter, Nina. He will also be fondly remembered by his sisters, Theresa and Sherry. He is preceded in death by his two dogs, Ivan The Terrible and Bear.

A true patriot, Bill proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a Marine. He completed three tours in Vietnam, demonstrating the courage and tenacity that would become a defining characteristic of his life. Overcoming obstacles and challenges, Bill leaves behind a legacy of bravery and dedication to his country, loved ones, and passions.

Upon returning home from Vietnam, Bill provided for his family as the supportive and reliable force that they needed. For many years he drove gas tankers throughout the country, transporting vital resources to those in need. Bill's career as a truck driver gave him the opportunity to explore the beauty of America and develop a deep appreciation for the diverse landscapes and people that make up this great nation.

In his spare time, Bill was an avid fisherman, spending countless hours out on the water, reeling in memorable moments with friends and family alike. His love for fishing not only nurtured a respect for nature, but also exposed his innate ability to reel in humorous stories and anecdotes that typically had everyone in stitches.

Bill's passion for animals, big and small, was unwavering. His home was regularly filled with the laughter and mischief of his furry friends, and as a staunch animal lover, he dedicated countless hours to the protection and well-being of creatures both domestic and wild. He had a natural ability to connect with animals and would often be seen surrounded by critters of all shapes and sizes.

Through his dedication as a United States Marine, his love for his family, and his passion for nature, Bill's life was a testament to what it means to be a courageous, compassionate, and unwavering individual. Bill's passing leaves a void that is impossible to fill, but his light will continue to shine through the many lives he touched.
