Anna Quattlebaum

July 10, 1933 — June 2, 2025

Anna Roberts Quattlebaum, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, at the venerable age of 91. Born on July 10, 1933, in the close-knit community of Rockwood, Tennessee, Anna's life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and the joy of simple pleasures.

Anna, often endearingly referred to as Gypsy by those who knew her best, was the loving wife of the late Edker D. Quattlebaum and a devoted mother to her children. She was predeceased by her beloved son Keith Brannon and daughter Donna Hall. Her legacy continues through her daughter Anna King and her husband Mark, her adored grandchildren Leigh Cook (Kevin), Brandon Brannon, David Holland, Todd Holland (Sherry), Nickie Anderson (Andy), and Jason Hall (Allison), as well as her cherished great-grandchildren Hunter, Kylie, Zach, Brittney, Ashley, Dustin, Dylan, Anthony, Travis, Christopher, Isaiah, Seth, and Kaylee; and numerous great great grandchildren. Anna was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Annie Watova Roberts and her brothers, Ray Roberts, Roland Roberts, George Herbert Newman, Eddie Newman, James Newman, and Harold Newman.

Her formative years were spent in the halls of Rockwood schools, where she laid the groundwork for a life of hard work and dedication. Anna's career was defined by her love for the food industry, where she served with a smile and a generous heart. She brought warmth to every corner of the Troy University Cafe and later, her caring presence was felt by all who visited the Lazyboy establishment where she worked.

A woman of many talents, Anna was an exceptional seamstress. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel, often visiting a friend in West Virginia, and she loved the beach. Anna's zest for life was infectious; she was a true Southern lady with a readiness to experience new things, always willing to try anything once.

In the kitchen, Anna was unparalleled; her cooking was a testament to her love for her family and friends. Her laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of those who knew her.

Anna's life was a lesson in love and tenacity. She faced life's challenges head-on and always emerged with grace. Her stories, filled with wit and wisdom, will be passed down through generations, and her memory will be a treasure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A graveside service to honor Anna’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 6, 2025 in Sunset Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Wesley Place for the compassionate care they provided to Gypsy. Your kindness and the way you treated her like family will always be remembered with gratitude.
