Anita Lawanna (Toney) Timbers

Mrs. Anita L. Toney Timbers entered her rest on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 with family by her side. She was born on October 16, 1973 in Cuthbert, GA, to the late Mr. Wylie Toney and Mrs. Martha Alexander Toney.

Her early years were spent at Randolph County Elementary, then transitioned to Randolph-Clay High School, where she played softball and basketball, before attending Albany Technical College in Albany, GA.

Anita married Ricky D. Timbers and have been in matrimonial faithfulness to each other for 26 lovely years. To this union was added five children; Kitaria Hudson, Sanaa J. Timbers, Ricky D. Timbers, Jr., and William Henry Timbers III, of Midland City, AL.

In 1994, Anita began working at Crowne Health Nursing Home, then in 1998, she began working at the Eufaula Youth Center. She transitioned in her career as Administrative Assistant with the State of Alabama, at the Children's Rehab Services in Dothan, AL and served there until her retirement.

Anita was a devoted member of the Greater Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Pinckard, AL, over the years, where she served as a Deaconess, Church Clerk, Usher Board, and Pastor's Aide Committee.

She was preceded in death by her father, the late Mr. Wylie Toney; the Timber's daughter, Jamiya Z. Timbers; maternal grandparents, Sylvester (Rosie Mae) Toney and Charlie (Queen) Alexander.

She leaves her loving husband, Ricky D. Timbers, Sr.; her children, Kitaria, Sanaa, Ricky Jr., and William; her mother, Mrs. Martha A. Toney; sister, Jeanetta (Antonio) Northington; brother, K'Veon Hudson; father and mother in law, Leonard Lynn (Joan); sister in laws, Rebecca Timbers, Lenada Lynn, Katrina Onon (Uchenna), Sabrina Walton (Terry); aunts, Thelma House, Pearl Toney, Jenerva (Tommie) Threadcraft, Deborah Alexander; uncles, Herbert (Betty) Toney, Willie James (Goldie) Toney; special niece, Ijanee Warren; a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Also mourning is the Glover Family, Jones Family; special friends, Shonda (Anthony) Smith, Mary (John) King, Nakeeda Street, Bridget Hardaway, and Jeanette Ellis.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 pm on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Pinckard, AL with Pastor Jackson Glover presiding. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home.
