Annie Jewell (Bennett) Brown

Annie Jewell Brown, 88, a resident of Midland City went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, December 1, 2022.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Felix George officiating. Burial will follow in Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests that those attending Annie's service respectfully wear a mask.

Annie Brown was born April 9, 1934 in Midland City, AL where she lived the majority of her life. She was married to Walter Brown Sr. for 65 years whom she loved dearly. Annie Brown worked as a housekeeper for Deer Run Estates in Daleville, AL for many years. She also worked as a cook for the Dothan Airport in Dothan, AL.
She loved to cook, attend church, and loved spending time praying and reading her bible. She was a member of Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church in Midland City, AL where she was known as the mother of the church. She was the greatest mother in the world.

Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Brown, Sr.; daughter, Betty Hodges; parents, Johnnie and Annie Bennett; sisters, Carolyn Bennett, Florene Bennett, Pollie Bennett Carroll, and Ruthie Bennett Hammonds; and brothers, Charles Bennett, Johnnie Bennett, Jr., C.W. Bennett, Cleveland Bennett, and L.A. Bennett.

She is survived by a son, Walter (Pat) Brown, Jr.; daughters, Sylvia Collier, Sandra (Hiram) Claytor, Connie (Harold) Phillips, Tracey Brown (Mitchell) Edwards, and Stacey Brown (Bobby) Douglas; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Billy Bennett, Ricky Bennett, and Sonny Bennett.
